1. Introduction

SeshMap is a personal cannabis session tracking and strain reference application operated by Saltscribe. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the SeshMap mobile application ("the App").

By using SeshMap, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the App's features.

Information You Provide:

• Account information — email address and password (if you create an account for cloud sync)
• Session logs — strain name, consumption method, dose level, mood before/after, effects felt, rating, and personal notes
• Stash box data — strains you save, quantity, and form (flower, vape, edible, etc.)
• Wishlist — strains you want to try
• Strain reviews — ratings and written reviews you submit

Information Collected Automatically:

• Device information — device type, operating system version, and app version (for crash reporting only)
• App usage — anonymous feature usage counts to improve the App

Information We Do NOT Collect:

• Location data — we never access your GPS or location
• Contacts or address book
• Photos, camera, or microphone
• Financial or payment information
• Data from other apps on your device
• Advertising identifiers

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide and improve the App:

• To authenticate your account (if you sign up for cloud sync)
• To store and display your session history, stash, and wishlist
• To calculate your terpene profile and personalized insights
• To sync your data across devices (only if you enable cloud sync)
• To improve app performance and fix bugs
• To respond to support requests
• To comply with legal obligations

We do NOT use your information for advertising, marketing, data mining, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the App's core features.

4. Data Storage and Security

Local-First Architecture:

By default, all your data is stored locally on your device using encrypted local storage. Your session logs, stash, and preferences never leave your device unless you explicitly enable cloud sync.

Cloud Sync (Optional):

If you create an account, your data is synced to our cloud infrastructure provided by Supabase, Inc. (hosted on Amazon Web Services in the United States). Cloud data is:

• Encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS
• Protected by row-level security (each user can only access their own data)
• Stored in SOC 2 Type II compliant data centers

We implement industry-standard security measures, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Sharing

We do NOT sell your personal information. Ever.

We do NOT share your data with advertisers.

We do NOT share your data with other users (SeshMap has no social features that expose your data).

We share data only with:

• Supabase, Inc. — our cloud infrastructure provider, which processes data on our behalf under a Data Processing Agreement. Supabase does not use your data for their own purposes. (Privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy)
• Law enforcement — we may disclose data if required by a valid court order, subpoena, or legal process. We will notify you of such requests unless legally prohibited from doing so.
• Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

• Account data is retained while your account is active.
• Upon account deletion, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.
• Local data is controlled entirely by you — deleting the App removes all local data.
• You can delete individual sessions, stash items, or reviews at any time within the App.
• You can request complete account and data deletion by contacting us at privacy@saltscribe.com or using the in-app account deletion feature.

We do not retain anonymized or aggregated data derived from your personal information.

7. Your Rights and Choices

All Users:

• Access your data within the App at any time
• Export your data by contacting us at privacy@saltscribe.com
• Delete individual records (sessions, stash items, reviews)
• Delete your entire account and all associated data
• Use the App in local-only mode without creating an account
• Opt out of cloud sync at any time

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA):

• Right to know what personal information we collect
• Right to delete your personal information
• Right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data)
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

European Residents (GDPR):

• Legal basis for processing: contract performance and consent
• Right to access, rectification, erasure, and data portability
• Right to restrict processing or object to processing
• Right to withdraw consent at any time
• Right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority

8. Children's Privacy

SeshMap is not intended for anyone under the age of 21. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21 years of age. If we learn that we have collected data from someone under 21, we will delete it promptly.

9. Cannabis Disclaimer

SeshMap is a personal tracking and reference tool. It is NOT a medical device and does NOT provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Strain data, terpene profiles, and reported effects are for informational purposes only and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult a healthcare professional before making decisions about cannabis use for medical purposes.

SeshMap does not sell, distribute, or facilitate the purchase of cannabis or cannabis products. We do not encourage the use of cannabis where it is prohibited by law.

Users are solely responsible for compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws regarding cannabis possession and use in their jurisdiction.

10. International Data Transfers

If you use SeshMap from outside the United States and enable cloud sync, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using cloud sync, you consent to this transfer.

We take steps to ensure that your data receives adequate protection in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via an in-app notification or email (if you have an account).

Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
